Pastor Mike Matiscik

Mike Matiscik has a passion for evangelism because he never had anyone sit him down and share the gospel until he was 23 years old. "I can't believe that I could live in this country for so long with everyone assuming that I had heard it. The gospel has changed my life. My desire is that God would also make a difference in your life. I truly believe the only way to effectively do that is through God's Word. That is why I am so pleased the Bible is the basis of everything we do at CFC!" These words are lived out as well as being constantly proclaimed as Pastor Matiscik teaches the Word of God in a systematic, verse-by-verse weekly study.

Mike was born in Ohio and is a graduate of Ohio State University. Seeing that he needed a "helpmate," God graciously brought Rebecca into Mike's life, meeting at a weekly Bible study. They were married in 1989 and have two children, Ellie and Joshua. God, in His sovereignty saw fit to send Mike and Becky to California where he earned his Masters of Divinity from the Masters Seminary, graduating in 1992. Mike has served in various levels of youth ministries as well as two College and Career ministries prior to being led to CFC in 1997 as Senior Pastor.

Lou Clark - Elder

Lew was born in Sayre, PA., in 1929. He accepted Christ as his Savior
when he was 10 years old at Emory Chapel. After high school graduation,
he worked in quality control in the glass industry. He was drafted into
the U.S. Army and assigned to the TRUST Command during the Korean War,
serving as a Chaplin's Assistant, and mortar squad leader.

He is a graduate of Trinity College of Florida, BA in Christian
Education. At Trinity he met Marjorie Brown, and married her in 1956.

After college they moved to Hammond, IN and have lived in this area 52
years, raising a family of seven children.

Lew retired from Inland Steel, after 34 years of service in various
administration positions.

He has been active as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Elder, AWANA
Commander, Missions Director, and Pacific Garden Mission Leader.

 Les Borja - Elder

Born August 3 1927 in Chicago, I spent my growing up years there until going into the military during WW II. A short continuation of schooling followed, while still being employed. Worked for Eastman Kodak until taking an early retirement in 1983. Came to a saving relationship with the Lord in May 1959 and have been involved with some kind of ministry since. Have been a scoutmaster (when we had scouts at CFC) Christian Service Brigade leader, Sunday School teacher in the high school department for around twenty years. Since the early 'sixties' I have served on the deacon and elder boards continuously with breaks only when the church constitution required a mandatory one year hiatus. Health issues have limited my ability to minister in many areas in recent years. Doris, my wife, has served over the years as Sunday School teacher continuously since early in the sixties. She also served as leader in Pioneer Girls and AWANA programs. She has always been supportive of my areas of serving; even helping out with building upgrades at times (she is the daughter of a carpenter, so is valuable in those areas). Severe physical limitations have reduced her ability to contribute in areas where she was once active. Our marriage of fifty three years produced four children and five grandchildren. With God's help we will serve God until HE calls us to rest. Jude 24, 25

Sean Flannigan - Elder

Elder Sean Flanagan desires to see all believers grow in their faith. "The best way for believers to grow is through the Word of God and spending time with other believers. I am so glad that Pastor Mike teaches the Bible verse-by-verse. This type of teaching explains God's message to us in a basic, simple language. It explains both what all people must do to be saved, and what believers must know to please God." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that "All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

Sean was born in Nebraska and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He met his wife Jodi in the college ministry at their local church. They were married in 1998 and have two children, Chloe and Quinn and a new little one due in December. Sean has served in various levels of youth ministries and currently leads our Jr. and Sr. High group, 180, in addition to being an elder.
